WhatMag Inc./ One Voice Magazine’s STATEMENT OF FAITH
WhatMag Inc. operates under the covering of LAMPARA, the ministerial fellowship of churches in Las Pinas, Muntinlupa, and Paranaque. We serve local churches through the publication of stories in a magazine and website. We represent diverse traditions and denominational affiliations. Our desire is to strengthen the unity in the Body of Christ by working together, reaching the lost together, praying for each other’s churches, writing together, and fellowshipping with one another by seeing TRANSFORMATION happen in our cities, our nation, and beyond. We are media connecting young people from different churches. With media, we give a voice to the marginalized and tackle issues relevant to the youth and our society.
We stand on these essential doctrines:
- The Bible is the inspired, infallible, inerrant, and authoritative Word of God. The Bible is composed of the Old Testament and New Testament. It is the basis and final authority for every true belief and doctrine. (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Pet. 1:21)
- There is one God in three distinct persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:31-33; 2 Corinthians 13:14)
- The Father God is Almighty. He loves the human race. He sent Jesus to earth so that we could be reconciled to Him. He is the Creator of heaven and earth. (Revelations 15:3; John 3:16; Psalm 146:6)
- Jesus Christ is the Son of God, both fully God and fully human. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died for our sins, physically rose from the dead, and ascended into heaven. He is victorious, seated at the right hand of the Father, and He will one day physically return. (Matthew 1:18-25; John 1:14-18; John 3:16-18; 1 John 4:9)
- The Holy Spirit is alive. He indwells every true believer. He convicts us of sin and righteousness. The manifestation of His presence is manifold and transformative. He helps believers grow in love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, and self-control. (John 14:16-18; John 16:7-15; Galatians 5:22)
- Salvation is only through our Lord Jesus Christ. We believe that salvation is by grace through faith, not by any of our good works. (Ephesians 2:8-10)
- The Church is built on the foundation of Jesus. The Church is more than a building. The Church is composed of people—broken but made whole and sanctified by God. The Church is beloved of the Lord. We believe in the diversity of churches, and we also believe it is the desire of Jesus, our Chief Shepherd, that we stand united in Him. (1 Corinthians 12:12-17; John 17:20-26; Ephesians 5:25; Matthew 16:18)
- Communion allows us to remember that Jesus died on the cross for us. We believe that communion is representative of the broken body of Jesus and His blood shed for us. (1 Corinthians 11:23-26)
- We believe in the resurrection from the dead. People who turn away from sin and toward faith in Jesus for salvation will be raised from the dead to an eternity with God. Those who do not will be subject to eternal punishment. (1 Corinthians 15:50-56; 1Thessalonians 4:13-18)
- We believe in honoring authority. We believe in honoring our parents. We also believe that governmental authority was set up by God. We also recognize the spiritual authority that God gave our church leaders. Hence, we honor our parents, our government leaders, and our church leaders. (Ephesians 6:2; Romans 13:1; Hebrews 13:17)
