Christians can have fun too.
Indeed, and Live Jam Sessions on the Rock proved just that. Conceptualized and managed by Christian volunteers under the non-profit organization, Saltshakers Vibe Out (SVO) ministry team, this continuous event aims to reach out to the NOW generation through wholesome platforms such as music. This event also aspires to encourage and harness creativity and artistry among Christian artists.
Eight Christian bands and artists playing different musical genres rocked the A-venue music hall on July 30, 2011. Amica & Kat dished out soulful acoustic music, One+Mile enthralled audiences with its moving and inspiring songs, while Eudia rocked the house with their energetic performance. Presence Team, Gino Lopez, Waldy del Rosario, Ego Eimi, and Called out also offered noteworthy performances. Food and non-alcoholic beverages were served to spectators.
“We want to connect and minister to audiences in a non-traditional way, enabling us to invite our pre-Christian friends to gigs which do not involve alcohol or stuff like that,” says Benjo Madrigal and Vivian Villanueva, the event’s organizers.
For the past year, Live Jam Session on the Rock has featured new and seasoned independent Filipino Christian artists and bands with their original or cover songs.
